NRW Mining & MaxMine: A partnership driving efficiency and decarbonisation

MaxMine Application

Committed to significantly reducing greenhouse gases at the Karara Iron Ore project, NRW Civil & Mining sought an intelligent, technology-driven approach to harness data-driven insights.

MaxMine enabled NRW to optimise payloads, maximise haul speeds, minimise idling and more, leading to an extra 612, 000 tons moved annually without additional costs. Beyond fuel and tyre savings, this also meant substantial CO2 emission reductions.

MaxMine has become part of our daily operation.

We have had a number of custom reports developed to assist us with running the mine. Superintendents and supervisors review the reports at shift change meetings and review the leagues to ensure compliance. Non-conformances are addressed with crews at prestart meetings.

We also monitor the crusher throughput as our major contractual KPI, and reports are automatically distributed to key stakeholders. Custom reports are also review at daily production meetings.

Results

One notable achievement was an average fill factor improvement of 3 extra tons per load. With approximately 17,000 loads monthly, this translates to an additional 612,000 tons of material being moved annually without incurring any extra costs.
