High Resolution and Objective Safety
Data Free of Human Influence and Error
Mining safety has improved tremendously over the past 40 years but we still saw 29 unnecessary fatalities in 2020 globally as a result of occupational mining accidents.1 Zero fatalities is only possible if we understand and manage our risks and this is impossible to do without Technology.
With over 5.5 million hours of data captured, MaxMine Safety provides extensive high resolution data collection, always on with internal backup power to reduce data collection loss during an incident. All data collected can be stored and forwarded, regardless of network coverage.
The World’s Best Black Box Recorder for Mining Equipment
MaxMine Safety provides you a self-service “black box” capability to your Load and Haul Operations. Following an incident at your operations, you can review the “black box” playback feature to help understand the root cause. Alternatively, you may like to reach out to our friendly MaxMine team to provide a formalised Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) report. We have helped customers understand root causes for different scenarios, including rollovers, equipment damage, wheel slides and soft tissue injuries using time series sensor data.

Safety Metrics
MaxMine delivers more than just data. We commit to improved safety by using advanced AI-based high quality data. Quickly understand how the performance of operators is attributing to potentially unsafe situations, such as speeding, behaviour on ramp zones with fully loaded vehicles opposed to empty, or behaviour in different weather environments (wet versus dry). Identify opportunities to improve safety of operators with gamified feedback so that your best performers can be recognised and celebrated. Leverage our shiftly Application Programming Interface (API) to consolidate your mine’s safety data.

Safety Coaching
MaxMine includes ongoing access to our experienced Improvement Coaches who integrate MaxMine’s intelligence with the strategic objectives of safe operations. We stay with you along your implementation journey to ensure that you are getting the most value from MaxMine Safety. This includes direct client access to MaxMine’s advanced analytics team for ad hoc analysis and custom reporting requests.

Real World Case Study: Data Driven Safety And Incident Investigation
Context
A truck was approaching a left hand turn at an intersection. The operator reported the truck lost steering for unknown reasons. The Operator braked and the truck rolled up into the berm.
MaxMine Application
Using our unique algorithms, MaxMine engineers were able to determine that the truck had steering oil alerts for low pressure and temperature which was directly related to the higher than recommended speed limit for safe cornering and heavy use of brakes. In this circumstance, MaxMine was able to provide data to help with coaching and education for the Operator to help avoid any further repeat events.

Client Results and Discussion
- No one was injured.
- Significant production was lost. Fleet was not at full capacity for 20 days as a result.
