MaxMine Productivity won the Digitalization & Automation Category Award in this year‘s edition of the Mining Elites in Africa Yearbook.
The MaxMine Productivity platform captures up to a thousand times more data at open pit mining operations than other technology systems, leading to improved load and haul activities and increases in productivity. The result? Millions of dollars in cost savings and improved efficiencies for mine site operators, with several improvements at mine sites, including:
- 13% Payload increase
- 16% Increase in total material moved
- 12% Increase in haul speed of the vehicles (within safe limits)
- 12% Reduction in vehicle breakdowns
- 24% Reduction in non-productive travel on site
- 16% Reduction in haul truck queueing times
- 8% Reduction in fuel consumed
- 40% Reduction in tyre expenditure
The improvements also extend to the environment, with reduced fuel usage and more efficient use of consumables on site.
Using the data collected by the platform, MaxMine coaches also work with mine site operators to identify areas for safe improvement based on the behaviour of operators. It also examines the hauling equipment’s condition and the environment’s context, creating a sustainable, long-term positive behaviour change by empowering the operators and making personal improvements visible through tailored feedback.
The Mining Elites in Africa 2023 Yearbook celebrates companies, projects and individuals who are making a tangible difference – for their own company‘s sustainability and, on an even greater level – the countries in which they operate and the communities and economies they contribute to uplifting. Building on a successful 2022 edition, this year‘s Yearbook pays homage to those making a sustainable difference in the African mining sector.
